Starchild
Surrounded within the frozen tundra
Where the sun hangs in darkness
At all times of day
I look in front of me
Beyond the wintery winds
Across a landscape of century old
Ice
An old man looks at me
He stands so tall
Whispers of death escaping him
Into the cruelty
Of the winds echo
But
I hold a fire within myself
A small flame
That's never faltered to the winds
On my knees
Frozen hands clenched into fists
An eternal warmth
Consumes me
Starchild!
Move towards distances unknown
And be unafraid
Of the relentless winter winds
That seek to still you
Starchild!
Move across the ways
Like a spark
Tear asunder the darkness
And fall down like a burning star
Starchild!
Nothing can champion you
There is no dearth in your heart
Only flames
That burn forever
