Queen of the Desert
Across great landscapes we ride
towards a city lost in time
Through winds of torment
and seas of sand
You are still by my side
The scorching sun disciplines me
But by the camels hump
I carry on
And I will not subside
In our wake there lies
Treacherous lands
And cruel men
But for you, I will never rend
Mysterious woman
You were once mine
Like a mirage
A figment lost to my dreams
My tired mind never forgot
And my pen
Ascribed your love into my heart
For time took you from me
But your spirit was never gone
For now we ride together
Through blistering heat
I see you now
Smiling back at me
Only the desert can contest
The fire that burns within my chest
And the deathly cold
I feel on these lonely nights
But I will never lose sight
Of the long lost city
For I know you await me there
My long, lost
Desert Queen
